Japanese Reactionaries' Discrimination against
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Democratic Lawyers Association of Korea in a statement on September 23 denounced the shameful and infantile discrimination of the Japanese reactionaries against the Koreans in Japan.
The statement said:
The Tokyo District Court on Sept. 13 dismissed the just demand of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Koreans in Japan for application of the tuition-free program to students of the Korean middle and high school in Tokyo without any legal reasons.
The unjust judgment of the Tokyo District Court is an illegal and fascist violation ruthlessly trampling down the sovereignty and right to existence of Koreans in Japan as it is an extension of the Japanese reactionaries' hostile policy against the DPRK and Chongryon.
The Democratic Lawyers Association of Korea brands the unjust judgment of the Tokyo District Court as heinous hostility and crime to suppress and terminate Chongryon, a dignified overseas citizens' organization of the DPRK, and severely condemned it.
There is no legal ground to reject application of the tuition-free program to students of Korean high school from the point of view that Japan should honestly apologize for its crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against the Korean nation and in view of international law respecting and ensuring the human rights.
We would never remain a passive onlooker at the Japanese reactionaries' shameful and infantile discrimination persistently committed against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan. I
f the Japanese reactionaries persist in the discrimination and persecution against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, they would never avoid the revenge and just judgment from the whole Korean nation.
The Japanese authorities should act with discretion mindful of catastrophic aftermath of their brutal act of ruthlessly trampling down the dignity and right of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and casting a pall over the future of Korean students in Japan. -0-
